Stacey Griffin

Stacey Griffin, MSW, LCSW

Founder and Executive Director

A proud native of Louisiana, Stacey is the daughter of an elementary public school teacher and a retired New Orleans police officer. Her parents had a strong influence on her path towards social work. Stacey's mother was drawn to helping students with emotional/behavioral issues and was an advocate of "in-school" disciplinary programs as opposed to suspensions/expulsions. Her father's service to the community was also inspiring.

Stacey did her undergraduate work at Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and was then awarded the Master of Social Work from Tulane University in 1995. Stacey is a licensed clinical social worker with over 22 years of experience working in a variety of settings with children and families. She opened Milestones in 2000 with the primary goal of providing high quality mental health services, support, and advocacy to the children of lower income families. She retains her commitment to diversity and social justice.

Stacey employs a variety of approaches to the mental health of children and adolescents. Her background in social analysis, clinical counseling, and crisis intervention allows a systems of treatment tailored to the individual child. Her dedication to a combined treatment method—assessment, treatment planning, counseling, skills building, and medication management (when appropriate)—affords clients a unique plan of treatment based on a single principle: children are resilient and, with authentic support, can enjoy happy, productive lives.

In her spare time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs, observing nature, reading, writing, watching movies, and exploring the great city of New Orleans.
